Spiderman as saviour and the absurdity of belief

A few years ago I read a short response to an appeal for religious belief that showed the essential absurdity of belief as the causative agent of reality. Instead of believing in Jesus, the author asked people to believe that Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained superpowers, with which he saves the world. Couched in evangelical language and belief-speak, the appeal was a devastating (and hilarious) critique on credulity and irrational faith. But I lost it in a hard drive failure and haven't found it through searching. Can anybody surface this piece? I

Response by poster: Two nice references - thanks! It is from analyses like these that someone wrote the evangelical appeal parody that I am looking for. Something like - 'if you will only put your trust in Spiderman, your life will be changed by believing in his amazing powers."
