Can you identify this educational 1980's computer game?

When I was a child, in the mid 80's our school had this game on the BBC micro. It was a mainly text based game about being a space explorer.
The teacher turned the game into a creative writing assignment, we had to play a bit and then write about what happened. This meant that we didn't have very much time to actually play the game. (Because all the class had to have a go)
The game was, I think, almost entirely text based, there may have been a star map. You played as space explorer(s) and had to go to various planets. If you went to them in the wrong order(?) then you got horribly killed. I remember at one point my character being eaten by a corrosive plant.
What was this game? Is it available anywhere to download or play online?

The Classic Adventures Solution Archive holds a very big list of BBC Micro text adventure games - maybe browsing it will jog your memory?

Still, I started perusing this BBC Micro Games site and thought maybe it could be Starship Command or Elite by AcornSoft? They look...spacey!
