E-cards for a dying friend.

An online friend of mine is dying. He's not my closest friend or anything, but he is a cool, grumpy, interesting, funny person I am glad I have known and I am sad to see him go. He seems to very much appreciate the e-cards he has gotten so far so I would like to send him one that is not glurgy but expresses that. It can be offbeat and weird. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you.

Response by poster: (I mean, it doesn't have to be a "SORRY U R DYING" card, I'm thinking more of a "you are awesome, I will miss you" kind of card, if that makes sense.)

Could you send a physical card? Some of these seem to fit the bill for what you're looking for.

Response by poster: I don't know how long he's going to last and we live on opposite sides of the Atlantic, so mail takes time.

Story People. You can just pick a card that doesn't move or you can pick one of the ones that move and choose a story to go with it and then write a message. I like the ones that move myself. I'll probably spend the next few hours trying out cards and sending a few. I hope you're not planning on getting much else done today.

In Story People I like the animated "Party" card with the story "All Hell".

Heart Lessons with Mechano or Starbird might work....Ok I'll stop now.

You said it can be offbeat and weird, and if by some chance he is a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fan, you could send him some Vogon poetry, this site lets you generate some. I would imagine you could put your message prominently at the start of the email and then include the poetry as something light-hearted (???).

Check out Paperless Post - really nice e cards with envelopes and stamps and everything, just like a real card. But by email!

Doesn't someecards let you create your own sayings? I'd say this is a DIY sort of thing. I'd look at this FPP for the sorts of sentiments you might want.
