Help me find an mp3 of a song?
May 13, 2015 1:19 PM
I am trying to find the mp3 of a song from a youtube video. Is there a service like TinEye, but for music? Alternately, is this something you wonderful MeFites could help me find? I'm looking for the music in this video. Thanks!
I'd like to use this for a dance routine. I know I can email the owner of the video, but I was hoping there might be an easier way that wouldn't require bothering her.
Bonus Question: Is there an easy way to edit music if I only want part of the song?
Thanks all!

You can use this converter to burn an mp3 directly from a YouTube video. I'm not sure, but I think that using the "share" function that includes a start time may be able to get it to start at the piece you want.

I think brainmouse has it.
To answer your other question: Is there a service like TinEye, but for music? Shazam (app). Unfortunately, Shazam offered no help on this one probably because it's unreleased.
You can pretty easily edit audio using Garageband if you're on a Mac or Audacity if you're using anything else.

If you have android phone, this is built in to JellyBean or later.
Just hit pause on your video, to the voice search "What is this song?" then when it starts listening, hit play on your video, and it should bring up the result.
