Canon HV 30 Connection issues

Sorry, yeah, I know this isn't 2008 but I'm still using a Canon HV30 anyway. Problem is firewire is dying and I don't know how to capture the video to computer anymore. Anyone have/had this problem and found solution?

Best answer: Mac or PC? There's Apple's Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter if you have a Mac with a Thunderbolt port. I have a Mac and the HV 30 and did a little research a while back and that was about all I could find (though I haven't bought that adapter yet). I couldn't find any FireWire to USB adapters that didn't look sketchy.

Response by poster: I've been using a pc but would move to Mac if that were my only choice. Really sucks there aren't more options, such a great camera.
