Mac app that shows image overlaid over another app?

I'm looking for an app on Mac OS X (Mavericks preferred. Can't use Yosemite). The app would simply display an image with adjustable transparency such that a second app could be positioned behind this image-displaying app, and I could see the image overlaid.

This is needed for a software development effort of the "second app" above. Developers have made some screens in the second app that have slight cosmetic problems that are seen when comparing the screens to mockup images from our designer. I spend a lot of time communicating about margins, font sizes, etc. and I just want them to see quickly that their screens are not matching the mockup image.

I can ask them to take screen shots and overlay them with the mockups inside of a program like Photoshop or The Gimp, but this is a lot of work for them. I'd just like an app that moves the image over their app, so they can see quickly where it differs.

Best answer: Possibly Afloat?

Best answer: The application Uberlayer ($3.99 on Mac App store) supports Mac OS X 10.6 or later and will let you float an image over all other windows with adjustable transparency.

GluePrint is free, and does exactly what you described.
