Please Help Me With Dell Notebook Battery Question

Confused but getting there - so Dell Latitude D430 - now I need to replace the battery - and I'm seeing all these different batteries with 6 cells and more. What should I be looking for and getting? Are more cells better? Longer lasting?

Best answer: The 6 cell battery will last approximately 2/3 as long as the 9 cell battery, since it has 2/3 the battery capacity and 2/3 the battery cells. However, it will be also about 2/3 as heavy, and will not stick out the front of the laptop like the 9 cell battery does.

If you want a heavier laptop that lasts longer, pick the 9 cell battery.

If you want a lighter laptop that doesn't last as long, pick the 6 cell battery.
