Suggestions for fans of In the Cut by Susanna Moore

I'm a huge fan of Susanna Moore's 1995 thriller, In the Cut, and have been looking for books that remind me of it in some way.

An example of one that really scratched that itch was The Earthquake Bird by Susanna Jones. The similarities there are obvious-- shortish; on the literary side; erotic; violent. But I want to cast a wider net and would be willing to give up almost any one of those elements. So, if you have read and enjoyed In the Cut, what are some other books you happen to like? Thanks!

(By the way, I have taken note of a handful of Metafilter threads in which In the Cut is mentioned. Often by me, heh.)

I loved that book! They aren't the same, but for somewhat similar reasons I've enjoyed the literary crime fiction of writers like Richard Price and Dennis Lehane, and books by writers like Larry Brown -- violent, well-written, place-specific, and with complex characters.
