Where can I get an affordable, stylish curly haircut in NJ/NY?

Hey Internet. I want to get my long, thick, curly hair cut for less than $100, preferably closer to $50, in NYC, Brooklyn, or NJ (northern/central). Help?
I live in central NJ, and I go into NYC/Brooklyn once a week. I am willing to do northern NJ if it's near public transportation.
Thanks for your help!

I have wavy/curly Problem Hair that I've been getting cut by Frank at BBC Salon in Tenafly for years. I think he charges $65. And, it's a block away from the NJ Transit bus stop.

Best answer: Devachan in SoHo seems to be the canonical answer for curly hair, though they are on the more expensive end of your budget-- I think they start at $80 and go up from there. I've looked into getting my hair cut there but have never gone.
I go to Mousey Brown in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. My hair is more wavy than curly but I always feel like I've gotten good haircuts there; they definitely cater to people who want to keep the natural texture of their hair and not have to deal with heat styling every day. Their basic shampoo + haircut was $55 the last time I went.

I swear by Devachan, though I live in LA. I got a great cut AND they helped me learn how to bring out the most curl with the least frizz and the least work. When you make an appointment, let them know you want a "junior stylist." Senior stylist's cost more than $80. That being said, if your hair isn't short, you can go every six months, which ended up saving me money in the long term.
Good luck!

Oh! I almost forgot...Devachan lists stylists who have been trained by them, so you may be able to find a stylist closer to you in NJ as opposed to NYC.

Blind Barber is great. I go to Alana in Williamsburg and she's given me haircuts that people can't stop complimenting me on. $45 for the cut.
