Why does my dial-up connection keep popping up?

I'm on a laptop running Windows XP connecting wirelessly to the internet. For whatever reason my dial-up connection is constantly popping up.

I've scanned with Microsoft AntiSpyware, I'm behind a firewall and I'm virus free. Um... help!? Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to put a stop to it?

If you don't use it, try disabling your dial-up in Network Connections?

Best answer: Go to the Internet control panel, click on the 'Connections' tab and set the radio button corresponding to 'Never dial my default connection'.

Boaz has the answer.... also, if it keeps happening, try going into internet explorer, clicking connections, and setting the radio button there....

It's infuriating, and has happened to me several times! it started when I started conneting via. bluetooth to my phone...
