How come every time i download or open an mpeg from a website it opens up in a small quicktime screen on another page? I want it to be downloaded and opened using windows media player? Only started happening since i bought a new computer!

IE or Fire Fox?

Check your quicktime plug-in and file associations in your Control Panel.

Best answer: If you're using FireFox, try this extension. It will open streaming media in an external player (you have to specify what player in the options).

Also, when it's not a in-page stream, you could always try right-clicking on the link and select download. If you are using IE, you can change the video viewer settings by Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> (scroll down to Multimedia) and uncheck the Play videos in web pages.
