DCComicsfilter - Old DC UK annual, what happened next?

When I was a kid in the mid-80s, I had a DC annual that was printed in the UK. Because of the unique way these things were cobbled together (they'd reprint whatever they could get with little regard to continuity), I have no idea how the story ended. For some reason, this is currently doing my head in, so can anyone point me in the right direction? Barely remembered details inside...

Hi folks, I've had this scratching away at the back of my mind for a while now and haven't had any luck finding an answer, so I'll ask the brilliant people here. In the mid-80s, I had a DC annual that was printed in the UK. I would have received this for Christmas one year, can't remember which, possibly the first half of the decade. In it was a half of a reprint of what I'd guess was a Justice League story. On the final cliffhanger panel Batman, maybe Robin, maybe Green Lantern and maybe Hawkman were falling to their doom into a black abyss. Seeing as at least two of those can fly, I'd presume that they didn't die and there was a second part to this story. Sorry for the lack of details, but can anyone point me in the direction of the storyline? Thanks in advance...

Check through the DC Comics wiki for Justice League Annuals and see if any look familiar?

Hanov3r (and doubtless others), in the UK an 'annual' is a hardback publication released for the juvenile Christmas market: popular comics and well-known comics characters have annuals, as do pop stars and groups, TV shows and Minecraft. It is highly unlikely that the UK annual the OP is describing correlates to anything DC Comics released as a JLA annual in the US.

peteyjlawson, do you remember the annual's cover or title? It might help to track it down. Plus some of them had awesome Bolland covers, as I recall.

Best answer: I wonder if it's one of the Super Heroes Annuals, then.

But, the Internet appears to have a dearth of information regarding UK-specific printings, and I've about exhausted my Google-fu.

Response by poster: Thanks for the help folks, I think it might indeed have been one of the Super Heroes Annuals but information about them is pretty scarce and it's wholly possible my mind is conflating two separate things. The eBay trawl begins...

Response by poster: Update - it was The 1985 DC Super Powers Annual which was published by Marvel UK strangely enough.
