Is there a website that catalogs the daily exchange rates between countries? For example, if I wanted to know the exchange rate from Canadian to American dollars on July 27, 2005?

Best answer: xe.com. It has rates going back to 1995. Also, this website is the number one hit for the word currency.

Response by poster: I guess that's what happens when you try to type in too much (canada united states currency exchange). Note to self: don't be so stupid.

Thanks, chunking.

Google added this functionality for a very few currencies a while back. My email asking them to add it was the reason, or so I like to think. ;)

Google search: 1.00 USD in EURO
Google search: 1.00 PESO in LIRA

Oh, I didn't read the part about specific date searches. Gotta love quick replies, sorry.

You can also download a CSV file (readable by Excel) with all the historic rates from here
