Where should i start with Captain America and Thor?

Recently i've been getting into marvel comics more, more specifically Thor and Captain America. I've almost finished vol. 1 of Thor:The Mighty Avenger that basically talks about him and Jane and i'm really enjoying it so far. I think they only have 3 trades for that so after i finish that series where should i go from there? As for Captain America i've never read any of it, but i think i'd like to start out with something newer that gets into his orgins first and then going from there. I wouldn't mind reading any of the other Avengers as well like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, and Iron man but i don't know where to start with any of those either. But if anyone has some ideas i'd really appreciate it!

I love Thor: The Mighty Avenger! To me, the other essentials of Thor are:

Walt Simonson's legendary run from the '70s. He stuck with it for so long that there are 5 volumes out in paperback. Simonson was a massive Norse mythology nerd, and his contributions to the Thor canon are many: he gave us Beta Ray Bill, Skurge the Executioner, Malekith the Dark Elf, Volstagg's daughter Hildy, and many many more. Vol 1 is here.

Straczynski's run, which rebooted the series after Marvel's Civil War crossover. Some nice additions to the mythology (including a female Loki), and lovely art by Olivier Coipel. 3 volumes; Vol 1 here.

Journey Into Mystery by Kieron Gillen focuses mostly on Loki, reborn with a teenage body and a chance at a clean slate. The first volume has *beautiful* art by Doug Braithwaite; the second has *awful* art; the third, fourth and fifth get better but not quite as amazing as the first. The writing, however, is excellent throughout. There's an omnibus edition due out next spring.

After Gillen's run on Journey Into Mystery ended, Katherine Immonen did two volumes' worth starring Sif: Vol 1, Vol 2

Finally, the Warriors Three have really won my heart, and this is a nice collection of their adventures.

A fun little adjunct is Avengers Prime, which was written in order to reconcile the enmity between Thor, Captain America and Iron Man after the events of the Civil War and Siege crossovers. The 3 central Avengers get lost in a dark corner of Asgard, fight a dragon, lose their dignity and do some bonding; it's a sweet stand-alone book with lovely art by Alan Davis.

Just to split a hair, Pallas, Skurge the Executioner is another Lee/Kirby thing (an era I, heretically, think ignorable). Nice recommendations though.
