Need tall slim women's boots

My wife ordered these boots but they are not slim enough in the calf. (The site states they are 13" around at the top but it is really 16".) She can't find anything under $300 that is a slender enough size. She's about 5'3", ~110 lbs, size 8 shoe. Any suggestions? Would like to keep it under $150-200 if possible.

Best answer: Go to a cobbler! A good cobbler can (depending on the boot) narrow the boot shaft.

Best answer: What you want are Duo Boots, which come in a range of calf sizes. I've ordered from them and had a good experience. The boots are good quality.

Just FYI: Part of the problem is that a wider-calf look is in right now, a lot of boots are not designed to come up snug around the calf.

I have the opposite problem and I recommend made to measure boots from The Bootmakers. They cost around £200 a pair and will ship to the US. Other people IRL I have recommended them to also like them to the extent they have bought multiple pairs.

Response by poster: Thanks for the answers. Those Duos are looking promising, lots of nice styles there (although a bit over the wished-for price range). Any idea what the cost of altering the boots would be?

I've heard narrowing a boot shaft is about $30-50 but it probably depends a lot on your location and the style/length of boot (and some wouldn't be able to be altered at all).
