Help me descifer the background lyrics to George Harrison's Let It Roll
November 4, 2013 2:14 PM

I was just listening to The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll) by George Harrison and I noticed there are some background lyrics and I can't understand them. The very low singing voices can be cleraly heard towards the end of the song but can be heard first from the 1:30 mark. Can you help these tired ears satiate their curiosity?

More info: I don't know if my googlefu is failing but I can't find anywhere what the voices are supposed to be saying, and I have tried for at least 50 repeats now to make out what the voices in the background are saying. Wikipedia's page for the song is amazing and great, but says nothing about the background vocals.

He's singing "Oh, Sir Frankie Crisp."

Check out the handwritten lyrics one page up from this Google Books result in the Harrison book I, Me, Mine.

Screen cap.

...also, it is mentioned on the Wikipedia page, albeit in a somewhat elliptical manner:
The words that Harrison half-sings are "Oh, Sir Frankie Crisp"; this part and the lead vocal were overdubbed at Trident Studios in central London, at Spector's suggestion.
