It's not "The Laughing Cavalier" is it? If it is, it appears that he is not identified by the painter, Frans Hals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laughing_Cavalier

He may be unnamed, but he's probably a musketeer. Also: 1, 2.

Best answer: Found the painting in an auction catalog entry. Description:

"Cavalier in Red Cape Oil on Canvas by Alex des Andries 24 x 30 framed Signed lower right Ca. 1922"
