Can I use a keyboard with my first-gen kindle running 4.2?

I'm running hashcode's Android 4.2 ROM on a first-generation kindle. Is there anyway to hook up a keyboard? It does not have Bluetooth, and I haven't had any success with OTG cable and USB keyboard ... Any ideas? While I'm at it, is there any way to take a screenshot on 4.2 without a volume button?

If you're running a rooted ROM, there should be quite a few apps that will let you take a screenshot with some other method. I use Screenshot UX, which has a free trial on the Play store.
