I'm visiting Baltimore and am staying in the Mt. Vernon/Midtown area. Is there a good place nearby to watch the Chicago Bears game tomorrow?

Best answer: I'm afraid I can't be super helpful (I live there but am not a sports person) but maybe your best bet right in mt vernon is Turp's near Preston/mt royal on Charles? Mick O'Sheas on the South end of Mt Vernon is another possibility. There aren't a lot of sports bars in the neighborhood. Also, I believe there's a ravens game tomorrow, which is probably what places with only 1-2 screens will be showing if so.

One idea if nothing else in mt vernon emerges might be to take the circulator (purple line) to inner harbor and find a larger sports bar there somewhere. (Espn zone is closed, though). Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion!

Best answer: Turps is your best bet. They have enough tv's that you can ask for 1 to be on the bears. but its also a major Ravens bar, so expect that to be going on all around you. oh, and get there early.

Otherwise I think your best bet is David's 1 and 10 on Falls rd in Hampden. I've never seen so many tv's in one bar. And it's never busy.

Turps is an awful idea. I'd leave the city. Look for a Greene Turtle, anywhere.

Response by poster: We had a late start and decided to try Turps since it was within walking distance. Turps was full and noisy - but the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. They were able to get us in a booth facing the one TV showing the Bears game. Had crab dip and some Bohs and watched the Bears lose to the Lions. Had a great time in Charm City! Thanks everyone!
