I'm not-so-shamelessly enamored with true-crime specials like Dateline and 20/20. What can I listen to that has the same flavor?
I've looked around for true crime podcasts, but haven't come across anything that I found compelling. Audiobook recommendations are very much appreciated-- whether they focus on one mystery/crime or several.

The Murder of the Century: The Gilded Age Crime that Scandalized a City and Sparked the Tabloid Wars by Paul Collins is right up your alley. The audiobook is great.
Thunderstruck by Erik Larson
The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective by Kate Summerscale.
The Killer of Little Shepherds: A True Crime Story and the Birth of Forensic Science by Douglas Starr
Death in the City of Light: The Serial Killer of Nazi-Occupied Paris by David King
Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President by Candice Millard
