2 read or not 2 read? Need answer fast-turn to p 740. Asking for a fiend

This reminded me my friend that she finally got a copy of To Be Or Not To Be the other day -- and her tween who is wicked witty and wants to read more Shakespeare is going to be stuck for a couple of hours for then next few weeks during "homework time" doing nothing and required to remain quiet. Is this tweenish friendly?

Flipped through and found a few things that probably don't need explaining (you begin to make out) (dump the body parts out the window or in the stew?) much ... and seems okay for someone who can/has sat through Clue and Princess Bride and Adventure Time and Mystery Men ...

(Need answer fast because school lets out at 2:40 ...)

Best answer: If the tween is an advanced reader, yes. I mean, there is nothing age inappropriate like a nude orgy or anything, and if this young person can get through Shakespeare without help it's probably fine.

Best answer: I have found one page that makes reference to "adventurous sex". No descriptions of it, just reference. Other than that, I'd say it's perfectly fine. Without an understanding of hamlet, the book isn't incomprehensible, just... even more zany and weird.

Response by poster: Report from the fiend (near HS reading level on that tween, BTW) is that the kid picked up the book and probably would have bathed and slept with it if permitted ... aka - BIG HIT.

Response by poster: Update for future Hamlet-seekers .... some bloody bits including cutting up Polonious' body, putting it in a stew, supping on a stew but not bad on the idea of tweenage ideas of gore.

Nearly a month on, it's still a hit although the book does occasionally not center every topic of conversation. :P

I watched Hamlet (2000) the other day (and have watched Hamlet2) - not quite tweenage appropriate. :P

Response by poster: Update - still a hit. That book is thick and packed.

There are a few bits in there when you play Ophelia, "If you sleep with Hamlet, you're a slut!" and "If she's damaged goods ..." (talking about her having sex at all, I think it's Lartetes threatening someone ...)
