Wedding accordion tunes for legal signing
August 28, 2013 2:30 PM

Accordionfilter: tunes for civil partnership wedding? Specifically a 5 minute part in which documents are signed.

The wedding will have a "ring warming", a poem, children's good wishes, then vows and exchange of rings. Guests are eg teaching in the humanities and arts. This followed by a 5-10 minute part in which legal documents are signed (UK). I've been asked to play background music during this segment.

My question is specifically about ideas for instrumental pieces / songs appropriate for a signing. I have tango, klezmer, irish / scottish folk, brazilian forro and bossa, and swing. So far the bride liked 3 waltzes, a Breton (Crested Hens), a Tchaikovsky (Italian song) and a Finnish one (I think, called The Midnight Sun).

Might be enough but 100 people will have nothing else to do than watch the signing and listen to me play so I'd like to do this properly. Any tips for a first time wedding musician (there are few existing threads)?

Bonus question: any songs related to life in the country, dogs, hens and Shetland ponies would make the bride extra happy. I will play these at the reception following the ceremony, where I will play background music.

Forgot to add, backdrop will be the countryside, people staying with campervans and tents and partying later at night (when another band will take over).

Something for a few moments where everyone's sort of waiting around? What about The Girl From Ipanema?

I think if nothing is going on during these 5-10 minutes but document-signing, that's the time for "Hey, look -- an accordion!"

Hence: Lady of Spain!

These are spot on. I can play Girl from Ipanema already. I'm a fan of accordionguy but I hadn't seen that post, nice find!
