mystery fridge shelf

We have a refrigerator/freezer shelf that fits in the door of our GE Profile fridge, but isn't shaped in a way that actually holds anything...if we put stuff in there, it just falls out. Dr. Google and the GE website are not helping me. What is this shelf for and can we use it for anything?

GE employee here. What's the model # of your Profile refrigerator?

Best answer: Could it be associated with GE's Quick Serveā„¢ Storage Dishes? See dimensions at that link. Ebay seems rich with parts.

Best answer: Mumkin is correct. See the bottom of page 15 in this PDF to see the shelf in action.

Response by poster: Model no TBX22PAXFRBB.

Can't find a year on the sticker. Wasn't new in 2009 when it became ours, spouse estimates 8-10 years old. Will check out link to quick serve gizmos.

Mumkin and paperback version have it.

If you go to www.GEAppliances.com, click on 'Support' at the top of the page, then choose 'Parts and Accessories' under 'Owner's Center', that will take you to the Parts/Accessories store. Input your model # in the Search box in the upper right hand corner of the page, and you can access exploded parts diagrams of your refrigerator. You'll find your shelf under "fresh food door" parts.

Response by poster: Thanks all...those links from mumkin & paperback got it right. Impressed, as always, by the super speed of the hive mind.
