Planner Software

I hate Anytime Organizer because it's ugly and clunky, but so far it's been the easiest planning/time management software for me to use consistently. If I list what I love/hate about it, can you help me pick another?

Oh. My. God. Anytime Organizer totally blows. Here's why:

1. It can't sync with Google Calendar or Outlook if you're using Windows 8.

2. Customer service is a joke.

3. It's ugly -- it's really clunky looking and just... ew. It's like a flashback to 1995, and not in the fun "Clarissa Explains It All" way.

4. It's difficult to color code events and tasks, and the colors offered are such that you can pick between highlighting events and tasks OR being able to *read* the events/tasks.

It's.... infuriating.

But! Here are the things I heart:

1. I like that it's not a Internet calendar -- that way, when I'm working and block myself from the internet, I still have access to my appointments and tasks. This is actually my favorite thing about this ugly program.

2. I like that it's one of my start up programs -- tho now it's recently started opening TWO copies, one of which starts crying during start up because it's empty and can't find my calendar (which is open in the other copy). I'm a little afraid that it'll eventually "lose" my calendar, too, because I have NO idea why it's opening two versions now, when it wasn't before and I haven't installed another copy or whatever.

3. Drag and dropping events and tasks is AWESOME. I also like being able to check things off, and how easy it is to enter tasks (even though it's clunky to add events).

4. I haven't yet printed one of the planner pages, but I like being able to -- and to pick what format I want it in. I have a paper planner I use, too, and it'd be great to integrate the two. I haven't tried printing yet because the program is so ugly.

Ideally, another program would have all of what I love about ATO, and none or few of the things I dislike. Any suggestions? My budget is between 20-40 dollars, but free is good too. :)

Have you tried Outlook? I think there is/was a plugin to sync your Outlook calendar with Google, but it meets all your "hearts" about you current solution, and the latest version(s) are actually very functional and sleek. I believe you can color code individual events in the newest version too, but haven't tried it yet.

You can take Google Calendar and set it to sync to offline mode.

Best answer: Check out Time & Chaos. And there's an add-on called Google Sync or something that works with Google Calendar.
