WWF average word score of 503.5

Perusing the new leaderboard feature on Word With Friends, I see that in Global > All Time, a user with the name Polska91… [truncated] has an average word point score of 503.5. How is that possible?
Because the score has a .5 more that one word must have been played. Let's say they had an opening score of MUZJIKS = 101 and say, QUAYSIDES = 225 as the second play. It doesn't get anywhere near the 500's. The next highest average word point score is 196, which while very high, is certainly achievable. So what's going on here?

Polska implies polish. Does the polish version of the game allow longer words, or assign higher point values to letters that don't appear in thd English alphabet ?

Best answer: If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you can modify the Words With Friends app to let you cheat by playing illegal words (such as nonsense words with high-scoring letters), or any other kind of cheating that you want. A friend made a modification like that and then released it for anyone else to install and use - here's an article about it (scroll down a bit for his explanation of why he released it).

Response by poster: Well, I guess it could be that, although I find it hard to believe that any combination of letters could generate an average of 503.5. On further investigation, I do believe it could be a result of this bug • I encountered though.

Response by poster: Looking at the results for Last Week > Global, zyngawf_22921 [truncated] has the even more ridiculous score of 4,799!!! Yet it does not appear in the All Time ranking. This is rubbish nuts.

zyngawf_22921 is likely to be some sort of employee testing account (username is Zynga, then WF for Words with Friends, then an employee number or something).

No, my mom sometimes shows up with a similar user name (zyngawf_#) when the app can't connect to the game server for whatever reason.

No. I have many opponents with this prefix. It happens when they play via Facebook and don't give themselves a name in Settings.

Best answer: Great article I read last week about iOS Leader Board hacking:

Sounds like it's pretty easy to do.

In this case I don't know if it would be exploits or cooperating with a friendly "opponent," but clearly that's not a score you can get through honest play.
