Help me find this book featuring a female police detective!

It's actually a series. The protagonist is a female detective, who seems to be in love with her ex-husband, and at some point has to live with him and his new wife because she is injured. I think she has lived with her elderly mother, too. Sorry, not much to go on!

Might be the Sunny Randall series by Robert B. Parker. Matches the first two criteria, anyway.

Best answer: The Hazel Micallef novels (The Calling, The Taken, A Door in the River) by Inger Ash Wolfe. I only read the first, but the protagonist was an older female detective who had to stay with her ex and his new wife after back surgery.
