Where do these shoes with mouths come from?

Is this from a movie or something? I've encountered it online but can't track down its origin. It's an animated gif of a man's shoes, and they have mouths with teeth opening and closing and tongues flapping. You can see it here.

Looks like it could be from Beatlejuice IMO.

Readalong -- a show from my childhood -- had a talking shoe, so the origin of a shoe with a mouth dates back to at least the mid '70s.

Beetlejuice was my first thought too! But no one seems to identify it as from Beetlejuice. Maybe something else from Tim Burton or the special effects people who worked on that movie? I'm no special effects scholar and I know it's just a gif but something about the way those tongues move seems very 80s to me.

Response by poster: Other threads had people commenting that it looks like it's from Beetlejuice but googling "beetlejuice shoes with mouths" and variations on that didn't turn up anything definitive.

Other phrases I found in comments are "M'dogs are barking" and "Ignore my shoes, they lie" which sound like they are referencing something which might be the source of the image or might just be something else that reminded them of it.

At about 2 minutes and 17 seconds into this (NSFW) clip from Sylvain Chomet's "Belleville Rendevous" we see Fred Astaire getting eaten by his dancing shoes. All the other references in the clip are to real life people from that era - so maybe Chomet is lifting the shoes from there too.

Also I highly recommend Jan Svankmajer's feature film Otesánek/Little Otik, if you like his style of creepy stop-motion animation.
