Why is my MBP running ML appending to the clipboard if I double cmd-C?

MacBook Pro Retina running Mountain Lion.
In any application, if I hit cmd-C twice in rapid succession, I hear a click and the selection gets appended to the clipboard.
For example, I have a BBEdit document that contains "some text".
I cmd-A, cmd-C, cmd-V and the document now contains "some text".
I cmd-A, cmd-C, cmd-C [click], cmd-V and the document now contains "some textsome text".
That double cmd-C is long ingrained in my muscle memory from the days that i was saving RAM by flushing the undo buffer by copying twice.
Before I go through the exercise of the binary search to ascertain the culprit, I thought I'd ask the hive in case anybody knew offhand what switch has been thrown.

Launchbar does this. Are you using that? You can turn it off in settings.
