Cooking Classes in DC for my friends

My friends are moving from Brooklyn to DC and I would like to gift them cooking classes in their new area. Any recommendations? A place similar to Brooklyn Kitchen, with diverse classes with a foodie, hip bent is what I'm looking for.
Oh and I'd need to give them gift certificates, for something like a one-off class rather than a series (total of $100?).
They don't drink much so a place with a strong alcohol component might work well. They are going to be living in Eastern Market if that helps.

Groupon-esque Living Social is headquartered in DC and offers frequent cooking classes at their 918 F Street facility. I've not attended any so I can't vouch for them personally, but reviews on Yelp seem fairly positive.

Also right in the neighborhood is the Hill Center, which offers cooking classes.

918 F St hosted this, so I would definitely keep an eye on them.

I did a one-off cooking class (Middle Eastern Vegetarian) at Hill's Kitchen as mentioned by decathecting and enjoyed it. Not having had a cooking class before, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't hands-on, but looking at the class description in retrospect, I can tease out that it is billed more as a demonstration.
The instructor was good and we did get to taste the food. More than a year later we continue to use the recipes at home so by that measure it was a great success. It's also right in your friends' new neighborhood. I'd be wary of a gift certificate for anything at Living Social because their financial situation is sketchy.

We were given a gift certificate for a cooking class at Culinaerie as a wedding gift and really enjoyed it! I've also taken a class at the Sur La Table at Pentagon Row and it was fun, too.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone. I was able to get the gift certificate from Hill's Kitchen. They were so sweet on the phone. I think I'm going to wrap a little Brooklyn chocolate and get a card and let them know about the gifty in the card.
I'm excited!
