Please recommend movies!

My boyfriend and I are having a hard time coming up with movies to watch. Brainstorming based off of movies, directors, and genres we tend to like has gotten us nowhere, so I'd like to see what the hivemind can come up with based off a list of our recent favourite tv shows.

We'd appreciate your suggestions! Here's a list of the shows we have followed:

Kids in the Hall
Arrested Development
Chappelle's Show
South Park
Simpsons
The Colbert Report
The Daily Show
Parks and Recreation
The Office
Bored to Death
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Mighty Boosh
Flight of the Conchords
Less Than Kind

Thanks!

Okay, it's not a movie, but if you marathon all the episodes of Summer Heights High it could be kind of like a movie!

I like those shows too. These may not be too similar, but I enjoyed them:

Whoops, sorry, those are both TV shows, and you specified movies. In that case, watch Wet Hot American Summer and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.

Oh, and in the event that you haven't also watched Mr. Show, I would definitely recommend adding that to your list of TV series.

Seconding In the Loop; if you like it, check out its sort-of companion show, The Thick of It.

So many of my favourites here. (For TV - I think you'd be happy with most things involving Armando Iannucci [in any capacity], or Steve Coogan [especially his Alan Partridge stuff, old and new], or their collaborators, e.g. Julia Davis, Peter Serafinowicz, Stewart Lee -- honestly just follow the Armando Iannucci tree, it's all goodness. Also, check out The Larry Sanders Show.)

Actual films not yet mentioned:
A Serious Man
The Bothersome Man
Annie Hall (maybe)
Stepbrothers*
Zoolander*

The Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made

For pure schlock, if you've never seen "Toxic Avenger;" do. The trailers preceding the movie are hilarious.

Many people have never heard of Mel Brook's "The Twelve Chairs."
Seek that out as well. It's got Dom Deluise!!!

For TV shows, I'd suggest:
Black Books
Green Wing (it's all on YouTube)
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
