First Dance for Friends turned Bride and Groom?

It's another wedding question.. I'm getting married on April 26th (yay) and I'm looking for a good first dance song that reflects our history as a couple. We were best friends for about 6 years before we started seriously dating and I'd love to dance to a song that reflects that. My fiance mentioned Can't Fight this Feeling by REO Speedwagon but I was looking for other suggestions. Any type of music is okay except country because we aren't big country fans. Thanks!

I'll Be with You by the Black Lips. Sort of surf rock/garage rock, really sweet. Thinking about it for my upcoming wedding too. Congrats!

Save the Best for Last - Vanessa Williams

All of the nights you came to me
When some silly girl had set you free
You wondered how you'd make it through
I wondered what was wrong with you

Cause how could you give your love to someone else
And share your dreams with me
Sometimes of everything you're looking for
It's the one thing you can't see

I understand you said "No country", but I'm going to suggest You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This by Toby Keith anyway.

Was also going to suggest Queen, You're My Best Friend.

White Stripes We Are Gonna Be Friends is sooooo sweet.

Also, Elvis Presley, I Can't Help Falling in Love With You.

Congratulations.

Something by Eva Cassidy maybe? She does a beautiful version of 'Fields of Gold', though that might not convey quite the feeling you're after.

Congratulations on the impending marriage :)

Same situation as my husband - we considered "Beauty and the Beast" BECAUSE it was cheesy and potentially funny, but ended up with "I finally found someone" by Barbara Streisand and Bryan Adams.

(I'm sleep deprived and missed the no country caveat. here's norah jones doing Hands on the Wheel. We liked the "no place to hide, I looked in your eyes and I found myself in you" and "I looked to the stars, tried all of the bars, and I'd nearly gone up in smoke" -- as in we tried it all -- and then found ourselves in each other. Anyway.)

It's almost time. Did you guys choose a song?

And congratulations!
