What's the origin of this sample from Sweet Nothing? Is it original to the song? I swear it sounds so much like something from the soundtrack of Hotline Miami. Is there a name for this type of beat/sound?

Here's a track from the 90s that used a similar synth.
It's just use pitch bend on I think a really basic sine wave synth.
