Cambodia / Khmer Rouge novel?

What's that novel? In high school I read a book about 2 children surviving the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. It was my first introduction to the Khmer Rouge, and I'm desperate to find out what it was called.

Probably written in the late 80's early 90's, I would have read it sometime between '90-'94. Aimed at young adults/children.

Don't remember much more than it was set in Cambodia, and told the story of two children (brothers or cousins) who wandered the wilderness avoiding Khmer Rouge soldiers, looking for their families, escape etc.

Please offer up suggestions for this novel, or similar sounding ones that you think would be good to teach to high school students.

This probably isn't it, but it is a YA book about Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge: Children of the River. I believe I read it in 8th grade.

Is it To Destroy You is No Loss? My high school performed that one as a play around '96-'97.
