Please recommend an indestructible dog bed for our 18 month old chocolate lab.

We crate our dog during the day while we are at work, and at night. He usually has a toy or two in the crate with him, but he recently destroyed bed number 4 while my partner and I were at work.

He loves having a bed while it lasts, but it seems he eventually cannot resist picking at it. Is there an indestructible, lab-resistant dog bed out there?

The Orvis tough chew, while not completely indestructible (I lived with an insane border collie mix that took one apart pretty fast) are very tough, and also guaranteed, so that if he does destroy it, you can at least get a new one for free.

We went though 2 dog beds before just throwing a few cheap fleece blankets in the crate for our dog and shes been happy ever sense.

We have a larger one we fold up as a pad and a smaller one we leave loose in a pile that she re-arranges as needed. The extra benefit is that they are much easier to toss in the washer when they get dirt then trying to wash a dog bed.

Our dog takes apart anything with stuffing. The solve has been to just not give her things with stuffing. We even de-stuff toys. She's cool with it.

Any how, we just fold up towels and make our own little bed. She seems to like to root arouns in the towels but doesn't destroy them. A couple folded blankets work just as well.

A Kuranda might work. Although it's not as soft as other beds, dogs like them!

We used towels for our dog, because she loved to eat stuffing (and stuffing poops are not happy poops).

The only thing indestructible to a determined chewy dog is a rock. Thin towels or blankies in the crate is really the best bet, sorry.

I had an Orvis tough chew and it did last a long time and they also replaced it for free no questions asked. I love Orvis and have had great experiences with them. That said, after my puppy chewed through that bed, I just let him lie on old towels until he got through that phase.

I think most of the boarding kennels I've taken my dogs to in the past few years use raised beds like the linked Kuranda. Not only are they pretty difficult to eat, they can be hosed off if there is a digestive crisis. You can use towels or sheepskins for padding.

Nthing Karunda beds. They aren't completely indestructable, but they're pretty darn close! And our dogs always tussle over who gets to use it!

Yeah some dogs just are not meant to have anything with stuffing (beds, toys, etc). I have one of those dogs, although he is considerably smaller than your cutie. He used to have a foam-filled bed in the living room, but he decided it was a big chew toy and slowly destroyed it. He now doesn't have a bed in the living room, but his crate has several blankies in it, which he actually adorably chews on and drags all over the house like Linus. Don't waste your money on "dog blankets," just buy cheap people blankets at Costco or Marshalls (my dog is only 12 lbs so he gets baby blankets, which is really cute), or give him old blankets and towels of yours.

My two pit bulls (both avid chewers) do very well with a few old fleece blankets in each of their crates.
