Looking for the fastest cheapie digital camera I can find.

I am looking for an inexpensive point and shoot camera with the lowest shutter lag possible.

So, I am no photographer, and don't need anything particularly fancy. I want an inexpensive (less than $125) digital camera that is as quick as possible. Any recommendations?

I had the same requirement as I believe you have - a camera for taking a photo in the moment you think of taking a photo, and found by playing around in stores that the Canon PowerShot SD780 was fast to turn on and fast to take a picture. That was a few years ago, but my comparison technique was just to go to lots of stores and try out lots of cameras. There were nicer ones, but none for less money, so that was the winner for me.

Digital Camera Shutter Lag Comparison Table

This reference claims much, much lower lags though:
Sony DSC TX10 0.15 shutter lag time.
The digital camera on a myTouch 4G doesn't have a shutter time at all.
Newer Panasonic cameras only have .008 shutter time lag.
