Help me find these shoes!

I have been looking high and low (without luck) for this pair of sandals--I know they exist, because I saw someone wearing them before I became intent on getting a pair. Oh, how I wish I'd asked her where she got them! It is a sort of boho-thong sandal with a flat ring that sits between your big and first toes. Thin cords make up the side straps. For a really crappy sketch, click here. Pardon my drawing skills. I would prefer a physical store (instant gratification, you know,) but online stores will satisfy my shoe-lust as well. I have googled the world over but have yet to come up with anything close enough.

Zappos ships insanely insanely fast and their return policy is fantastic.

Response by poster: Close, but the straps are actually cords, and the heels were totally flat. I guess part of the reason I'm having such a hard time is that I'm so picky. :-)

Cords like this?

I have a pair very similar to the sketch; they are made by Mystique, and were sold by Soft Surroundings. Steel O-ring, leather cord multi-string sides, leather sole. Please note - though they look sweet, they have been supremely uncomfortable to my feet.

Response by poster: More like this. Actually, these are pretty close to what I want, except for the ring part.

Was it worn by a person of Indian origin? Maybe she got it from India. Chappals (thongs/sandals/flip-flops) are rather common back home.

Response by poster: No, they were pretty much mass-manufactured-looking. Definitely not handmade or anything like that. I think the straps and soles might have even been plastic, but I'm not sure.

I honestly thought she got them someplace like the Gap when I saw them.
