Name that show - hand-nailed-to-a-tree edition

What was this show - late night UK channel 4 community-service soap opera.

Back in 2002/2003 there was a show on very late on Channel 4 which was essentially a soap opera based around a group of people doing community service in a park. It was quite poorly made/acted/written (which is presumably why it was relegated to the middle of the night), but was hugely enjoyable in a 'so bad it's good' way. Back when I was at university we used to catch it sometimes after getting back from a night out, so it was probably on around 2am.

I don't remember the storylines very well, but one stands out in my memory: A troubled young man with religious delusions joins the group and ends up nailing his hand to a tree. The execution of this scene was absolutely hilarious.

I have no idea what the show was called and I'd really like to know! Also is there any information online about it? I've googled and failed to turn up anything at all.

Best answer: It was called Offenders. It's not on IMDB for some reason. I had to dig it out of the programme database at work to find out the cast. Doesn't ever appear to have been repeated or be available online that I can see.
