Are there any good thrift shops in Pittsburgh? Looking for a place to find high quality men's clothing.

I have not lived in PGH for more than 10 years but I was a major thrift store junkie back then and the Red White and Blue in Braddock is still one of my best shopping memories. That place was a goldmine. I would spend $20 and come out looking like Donnie Brasco.

I had good luck as a regular at the South Side Salvation Army. The Goodwills in the city were often picked over, especially at the South Side Works, though there was sometimes excess mall merchandise there.

There is also a Red White and Blue in Bellevue---it's been a good bet for variety, but prices may not be the best in town.

As mentioned above, both of the Pittsburgh Red, White & Blue locations are AWESOME. I hit those up every few weeks and have gotten most of my work clothes there (but I'm a woman). Try to go early on Saturday mornings, if possible -- they do a 50% off sale on most color tags, except the newest one, but the merchandise is seriously picked over by mid-afternoon.

There's also a new-ish Goodwill in Lawrenceville on Butler Street that's usually got good stuff, and a new one in Robinson Township that's really nice. The Salvation Army on Route 30 in Irwin is great for seriously vintage things but they have a ton of stock. This is kind of my area of expertise, if you couldn't tell.

Nthing Red White and Blue. I've also had tremendously good luck finding high-quality, fashionable, and relatively inexpensive used clothes at Avalon Exchange in Squirrel Hill, though not technically a thrift store and YMMV.

Yes, Red White & Blue.

Also check out the Goodwill Outlet on Rte 30 in North Versailles. I've only been there once, but at one point everybody was corralled off the floor and everything in the store was wheeled into the back and all new stuff was brought out. A unique experience, even if you don't find what you're looking for.
