Looking for GYN and GP in NYC

Moving to NYC, need recommendations for a gynecologist and a general practitioner.

Requirements: excellent doctor, UWS or Wall St location, and that they take insurance. My gyn recommended a colleague who doesn't take insurance at all. Bonus if they work from 8 am or after 5.

He's in SoHo, but I highly recommend my GP, Dr. Brian Meehan. He's at Spring and Sullivan and takes most insurance. Do not, however, go to any of the gynecologists in the same office- they are terrible.

We liked oBgyn West Side when we lived in NYC, although we used them more for the Ob side than the Gyn side.

They fulfill many of your requirements: Open 8am-7pm most days, are on the UWS, and they took our insurance.

....I came in to sing the praises for my own OB/GP (she does both), but the location is stopping me - if you can't find someone in your area and East 13th Street right by the subway would suffice, I can gve you that rec.

Also in Soho, but fairly centrally (Broadway & Prince): Downtown Women OBGyn; they take Aetna, not sure which other ones they also take. Elisabeth Newton is one of the Nurse Practioners there and she's awesome.

I forgot to add that they do early morning & evening appointments.

I have liked ObGyn West Side as well, though they do indeed skew toward the Ob side of practice.

I used to go to NY Pelvic Pain practice at 90 Maiden Ln. It's a gyn office that takes insurance and you don't have to have pain to go there, it's just their specialty. Right off Wall St 2/3. Can't remember the hours, but really liked them.
