How do you get a regular column/blog on Huffington Post, and how hard is it? It seems like so many people have one.

It doesn't pay, so the people who do it are generally people who want the exposure for their other endeavors. Are your other endeavors likely to be known to the HuffPo editorial staff?

It's not significantly hard if you have any amount of exposure, regardless of your writing skill. If you're an unknown, it's a little harder.

My stepmom has one, she got it because her neighbor had one too and recommended her. Mind you, both of them are professional writers, so having solid clippings* and an audience you can point to really helps.

*I don't know what you'd call this these days, back when I was looking for my first job it was literally a folder with newspaper clippings in it.

Perhaps. Supposing I have some modest exposure, then what? Just email the general HuffPo email address out of the blue and pitch a column?
