Help me find the origin of this avocado spaceship?

Anyone know where this image of a (child?) (elf?) (pixie?) who apparently arrived in a flying avocado originated? For some reason it captured my imagination when I first found it posted to the web several years ago. The poster only knew that they had found it "somewhere on the web". It looks like there's a whole story there - maybe a sword (broken?) and some coins among the rocks, and a somewhat dejected looking young (?) humanoid sitting on the ground. Anyone know the origin or back story?

Best answer: That is On the beach by Don Donald Cecil. He's done others that are similar: The Ascention of Saint Inez The Mechanic, Cause and Effect , Naughty etc.

I really like this a lot, so thank you very much for posting and asking. In case you're interested, this reminds me strongly of the work of Kahn & Selesnick.
