Is it possible to turn Google Reader's starred items into Chrome bookmarks and vis-versa?

Google reader should be able to export starred items as a JSON file, which Chrome (or FireFox) should be able to import as bookmarks. I won't be able to actually go figure out how to do it until I get home, but I bet if you Google around you'll find something.

Note that as the Google Reader interface has changed some of the old ways that come up on Google to do this sort of thing, like converting your starred items to an Atom feed, have become difficult or impossible.

I have tasks that send my starred items to Evernote and Pocket through If This Then That, but you could also send them to Pinboard, Delicious, Tumblr, etc. These aren't real bookmarks, though.

Response by poster: Exactly. And the problem with the JSON files which are exported is that they're the entire content of the posts, not just the URLs

Chrome probably has an option to turn delicious bookmarks into Chrome bookmarks, either on an ongoing basis or as a one time import. I know Firefox does.
