Help me a find a replacement for a broken vintage mixing bowl
Eek, I've broken one of two of my boyfriend's favourite vintage mixing bowls and I can't find a suitable replacement.
The one that lost it's life is an Emile Henry 11" wide, 6" tall ceramic (?) bowl with a deep hunter green exterior and cream interior, probably from a few decades ago. It has horizontal ripples or ridges. I'm not sure if it's meant for the oven, but we used to put it in the oven for baking bread as well.
I guess I'm looking for a recommendation on an oven-safe large mixing bowl that is known for quality and longevity, and a line that might be worth collecting over time. I've looked at the new Emile Henry stuff, but they are not the same shape or colours anymore, so I'd like to look around.
Also, if you know of any great vintage stores in Chicago that might have something interesting that would be a bonus.
Thanks!

Emile Henry is still very highly regarded. Yes, it's ceramic. There's a large kitchen bowl not sold through the US site that sounds like it's a similar size, though it's more of an olive green. Your boyfriend's sounds like it's perhaps the discontinued Le Poitier-Green color.
There's also lot of lovely vintage ceramic stuff in sundry brands available through eBay, etc.

It sounds like you're keen on vintage but if you change your mind, I'd recommend checking out pottery studios in your area. You could find something handmade and one-of-a-kind!

Have you tried Replacements.com? It looks like they have a lot of the Emile Henry stuff in green.
