How do I preserve a rose?

I have a single yellow rose that I want to preserve. How do I do that?
I'd like for it to retain as much of its color as possible and be as non-fragile as possible. I'm fine with spending a bit of money/time on this, including paying for some sort of flower preservation service. I'm in Brooklyn, NY.

One thing that I like to do with old colorful flowers is coat them in epoxy resin or mod podge. They make beautiful brooches or decorations

If this particular rose is important to you, then take some great photos now. Preserving may not work as well as you hope. It is very disappointing to find something irreplaceable has not survived the treatment well.

If you end up doing it yourself, I'd recommend getting a dozen roses to practice on first.

For what it's worth, if you've been cursed by an enchantress I don't think preserving the rose will actually extend the time limit to when the curse becomes permanent. It's really just more of a visual reminder as I understand it.
