Midtown at night

What is the atmosphere of Midtown in Houston at night? Would someone with a small frame who doesn't know karate feel safe walking their dog before bedtime there?

Midtown is pretty safe, although it is considered the douchy dudebro bar area of town.

If you aren't scared of Ed Hardy and Jersey Shore lookalikes, you'll be fine.

Depends what time of the night and which day of the week, I live here and it's typically not too bad really (you have homeless people harassing you for money at the worst). There's quite a few people walking their dogs around too.
