What are the best sports bars and other places to watch the Giants vs. 49ers game in the city? I've recently moved back to California and into San Francisco after eight years living in the Midwest & East Coast, and want to watch the game with other fans.
I'm in the Glen Park area, but willing to go to wherever there's a great atmosphere. I'd prefer to not need to fight my way through a crazy crush, but standing room only is fine. Bonus points for places with good food, since I imagine I'll have to show up early to get a nice view of a screen.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that every bar with a TV is going to have it on on Sunday. So it kind of depends on what kind of bar you like. Every Mission dive bar is going to have it on, as will the more cocktail-oriented ones, if they have a TV. Like Hog & Rocks, for example. May be a good time to check out your local bars? Do you specifically want a sports bar?

Public House over near the SF Giants stadium is fun during baseball games, I'm gonna guess that it would also be a fun place to watch the football game.

Response by poster: I'd prefer a bigger screen all other things being equal, but we have that at home, so it's not the main draw. Basically I'm looking for a place that has a good vibe, good food, and not a lot of "bros" or people joining the Niners bandwagon just now. (I've been a fan since I was four and put in my dues suffering through all of the bad years, dang it!)

Danny Coyle's in the Lower Haight generally puts big games on a projection screen (in addition to having them on the TVs scattered around the bar.
