Help me track down this early Mitch Hedberg tv appearance

Trying to find a video of Mitch Hedberg on Letterman.

The first time I saw Mitch Hedberg do stand-up was on Letterman. At some point during his routine, he reached into his pocket to pull out a scrap of paper with a joke on it and said something like, "This is unprecedented." I'm pretty sure "unprecedented" was the word. I would love to see this video again but have had no luck finding it on youtube or attempting to Google it. I'm not sure of the date of the appearance and am almost positive it was Letterman, but I suppose it could have been Leno or Conan O'Brien or anyone else who had a late-night show in the late 90s/early 00s.

I swear I've seen this on youtube but I'm at work right now so I can't be of much help finding it. Keep looking. I'll give it a shot when I get home.

"I got paid $900 to eat cantaloupe. That's fucking unprecedented!" It seems you might be mixing up a joke with an actual appearance.

Response by poster: no bueno -- I swear I've watched about every Mitch Hedberg video on youtube and have never seen it, but your confirmation that it exists eases my mind

filthy light thief -- the wording may be off, but I know he pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket because he forgot his jokes or something

Arg, my first link should go here, a review for the CD Do You Believe in Gosh?

As for your search, you may want to look to other sites or services that host videos. If this Wikipedia list of TV appearances is complete (only 10 appearances as himself), you only have a few videos to find.

Along the same lines, I found a list of his appearances on imdb that seems to have a few more appearances than the list on Wikipedia. You can google "Mitch Hedburg" and the date of each appearance, which will lead you to videos for a good number of them. I don't have the time at present to watch them all, but hopefully these leads will help you track it down.
