I recently got into boxing. But I want to read a good book about the art of boxing. Any suggestions?

I basically want to know more about its history, rules, journeymen (and other boxer specific stuff like that). I saw that there is a previously on ask below.

So I think "The Manly Art" and "Serenity" are maybe good bets. But are there any other good ones since 2006? I can see some in Amazon as well but I wonder if anyone knows a good one.

The Power Of One by Bryce Courteny. It isn't exactly JUST about boxing, but it has a lot to do with it and is a fantastic book.

I just finished Four Kings, and thought it was an outstanding book. Although the focus is on the fights between Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Duran, there's a ton of other information in there about their trainers, promoters, other fighters they fought, referees and judges Angelo Dundee and Bob Arum in particular make large contributions to the book.

Response by poster: Thanks, I am making a big amazon wish list and will buy a few. Anyone know a good Tyson bio?

Haven't read it, but The Last Great Fight is on my Wish List. May be a bit out of scope, but the Tyson documentary is very good

I haven't read her work on boxing but Katherine Dunn, the author of Geek Love (fucking awesome), is a great writer who is considered one of the better journalists covering boxing (article). A compilation of some of her boxing articles was recently published. She's also a contributing writer at CyberBoxingZone.
