I'm looking for Android blogs that don't flood me with hardware news.

I like Android. I hate Android blogs.

I want to be able to learn about new apps, games, tricks, and OS news without having to sift through dozens of posts about phones that are rumored to be launching next week in Poland and charts showing that the Android has gained another .4% market share.

As I write this 8 of Android and Me's 10 latest posts are about new or rumored hardware. DroidDog, AndroidGuys and Android Central are equally abysmal.

Androinica and AndroidTapp fare a little better, but are still lacking as far as I'm concerned.

To be fair, Verizon just announced that the Galaxy Nexus is officially launching tomorrow, which is news a long time coming, and probably deserves a mention, being the latest reference hardware device, but I've also been reading rumors about the launch for months now, and I wish I hadn't been.

Best answer: for apps, every few weeks i troll through this tag on androidpolice. there's a lot of crap to sift through, but there's also quite a bit of good stuff i would have missed.

Do you read Lifehacker? They cover good material in general, and their Android articles are generally pretty good. They aren't an "Android blog" as such but they very much worthwhile, and generally only mention Android in meaningful ways.

AndroidPolice is, IMHO, the best of what's out there. But it suffers from most the problems you describe, just not as badly as the rest.

They do weekly Apps/Games roundups that are nice.

Best answer: Seconding the lifehacker android tag and I also skim through droidgamers to keep an eye on game releases.

Response by poster: I hadn't heard of AndroidPolice, and yes, they're definitely better than most. And Droidgamers definitely seems like as close to TouchArcade as I'm going to get for Android releases.. Thanks.
