What type of music is this and where can I find more?

I'm looking for recommendations or suggestions for music that is similar to Pegasus by Bear McCreary from the second season of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm not even sure how to describe the style of music, so if you can tell me what exactly I'm listening to, I'd be very interested to know. As far as the music itself, it's very relaxing, yet somewhat sad. I get the feeling of watching a sunrise alone. I see that Bear McCreary's Sonatica from BSG has been referred to in other questions, but I think I'd like something that was written primarily for guitar.

The closest pieces that I could think of that are of a similar style and instruments (I think) that evoked the same mood are Taxi Ride (starting at about 1:00) by John Powell from the Bourne Identity OST and the first 5 minutes of Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd.

Thanks!

Post-rock? The band Explosions in the Sky is one band that comes to mind - somehow their stuff is simultaneously calm/relaxed and emotional/epic. But if you just plug "post-rock" into Pandora or last.fm you'll get a lot different bands.

Sigur Ros is another one, although they have a fair amount of vocals and that may not work as well for you.

A few ideas, kind of all over the place. Let me know if any of these are close.

Earth - The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull
Sunn O))) - Alice
Moby - Shot In The Back Of The Head
Nine Inch Nails - Leaving Hope
Dj Shadow - Meets His Maker

Hey, you guys are really good. Thanks for the suggestions!

Coaticass, I'll be sure to look into this. Interestingly, I was watching the movie "Man on the Train" tonight and the opening music by Pascal Esteve was very similar to Ry Cooder's music from your link. Both are very nice.

Knicke, I sampled some of Explosions in the Sky's music and I found that their piece, Memorial, is a mighty close match in style to Pegasus. Really beautiful stuff.

Jairus, I think they are pretty close. In particular, DJ Shadow's Meets His Maker is lovely. I like Moby a lot, but was not aware of the other bands. I'll look more closely at them.

Thanks again!
